    Now What?

Since receiving Arwen's documents on December 4th, 2006 we reviewed all the paperwork, signed the acceptance letter...of course...and sent it back to GWCA before the deadline of December 8th, 2006!!!! We have received news from our agency that all 39 referrals for the 11-30-2006 travel group have signed and returned their acceptance forms on time!!!! Now we all wait to get our TA, which is our Travel Approval from the CCAA (China Center of Adoption Affairs in Beijing). Meanwhile I am researching sites in Changsha that we hope to see while we are there. They are known for their embroidery and double-sided embroidery.

While we do not know the dates of travel yet, I am also planning to start off our trip by visiting Aubrey's (our first daughter, now 3) SWI in Guangdong, Qujiang SWI. We have already had Adoption Homeland Tours contact the SWI and they are excited about our visit, as we are also very excited to see them again. We did not get to spend much time in Qujiang in 2004, so we have 2 days scheduled this time. We hope to see Aubrey's hometown, visit the SWI, visit with the Directors and Nannies, and visit her Finding Site. We will fly out of Tampa, Florida and into LosAngeles. From there fly into Guangzhou. After flying into Guangzhou, Guangdong we will meet our guide, then board the train to Shaoguan which is very near Qujiang SWI about a 30 minute drive. Following our time in Shaoguan we will board the train again for a long 5-6 hour ride to meet our Changsha travel group in Changsha, Hunan. We are happy to say that we anticipate Aubrey's Grandmother, NaiNai and Aubrey's Godmother, GiGi to be traveling with us. Stay tuned for the next update!

    Arwen's Referral has arrived!!!

It is with much gratitude to God that we introduce our second daughter, Fan Mei Qiao, soon to be Arwen Alexandra. We received notice of having a daughter on November 30th, 2006. Todd was home and waited 3 hours before he could open her photos so we could all be together as a family when we saw her for the first time. It was a wonderful moment, and we have been elated ever since. We received her package of documents in the mail on Monday December 4th. She has been in Foster Care since she was about 3 weeks old, and is now 13 months old. She will be close to 15 months old when we receive her. That is assuming we travel in January. I am guessing she will be walking by then! Aubrey is so happy to be a big sister and can't wait to go to China to get her. Arwen is in Changsha which is the capitol of Hunan Province in China. We are still waiting for all of her documents to be translated. Her 3 referral photos were taken most likely at the time of her last medical report that we have which was July 12th, 2006. So she will look quite different by the time we see her. I can't express how excited we are. Please keep us in your prayers as we make plans to travel! I will keep you up to date on our journey to bring Arwen home to her Forever Family.
